There are a few things concerning the above statement which I would like to bring to your attention.
FIRST, the inspired apostle is not referring to some mere form of religious faith(s), but to that "precious faith" (II Peter 1:1), the "faith of God's elect" (Titus 1:1); that faith by which guilty sinners embrace the Lord Jesus Christ, finding in Him justifying righteousness, reconciliation and peace with the holy God (Romans 5:1; 8:1).
SECOND, the faith Paul speaks of is a gift of God to lost sinners, a soul-saving faith. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God. not of works, lest any man should boast"(Ephesians 2:8,9).
THIRD, this precious gift of God, this precious soul-saving faith, comes to sinners through the hearing of the Word of God. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17).
FOURTH, since this precious, soul-saving faith is freely given to guilty, lost sinners, and since this faith is simply believing, "with the heart" (Romans 10:10), the testimony of God concerning His Son ..... why is it true that "all men have not faith?" With some, perhaps some reading this little article, it is because they are seeking faith instead of Christ! All who seek Christ, honestly and sincerely, in God's Truth, shall soon find Him. "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord. .... The Lord is nigh unto aH them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth"(Jeremiah 29:13,14; Psalm 145:18). May God bless His precious Truth.
