Here are four blessed facts about the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Mark them down. Remember them. Rejoice in them. And let nothing move you from these four blessed truths of Holy Scripture.
(1) It is SUBSTITUTIONARY. "For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him"(II Cor. 5:21).
(2) It is PARTICULAR. "For the transgressions of my people was He stricken"(Isa. 53:8).
(3) It was EFFECTUAL. "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us"(Heb. 9:12). (4) It was FINAL. "But now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself"(Heb. 9:26).
