SHOULD WE SPEAK OUT?
Jeremiah 23:26

...they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart. Jeremiah 23:26

Better judgement would perhaps leave this alone, but I have never been accused of good judgement. This was a statement by Billy Graham in the Houston Chronicle: "Pope John Paul is perhaps the man of the century. He has brought the greatest impact of any pope in the last 200 years. I admire his courage, determination, intellectual abilities and his understanding of Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox differences, and an attempt at some form of reconciliation."

How different this is from the way our Lord speaks of those who promote a false, works religion! I will not quote all of 2 John 9-11, but the import of it is directed at such as the imposter of Rome. It must be so that Mr. Graham is guilty of bidding this heretic God speed, thus making him a partaker of the pope's evil deeds. Our Lord warned us about false prophets. He preached a truth, and His disciples said the religious leaders were offended. Did our Master tell them to go and try to reconcile the religionists? Of course not! He said, Leave them alone. They be blind leaders of the blind.

The pope certainly does not have the doctrine of Christ, so he "hath not God" (2 John 9). Does Mr. Graham have the doctrine of Christ? One would think not! The doctrine of Christ is free grace and atonement in His blood without the sinner lifting a finger.

Anyone with spiritual knowledge knows what a delusion all works religions are. Poor deluded people will read Graham's remarks and be led down the path of destruction. Why does Billy Graham do this? He must be blind. There is no other answer. So, there is my judgement, good or bad, as it may be. I suppose people can like it or lump it, as we said when I was a boy.
