All service rendered to Christ must be willing, voluntary service, constrained by nothing but love for him. If you give grudgingly, God will not have your gift. If you serve grudgingly, God will not have your service, no matter how great or small. Religion forces people to do what they would not do otherwise, by the threat of punishment or the promise of reward. Grace makes people willing to do and give purely for the glory of Christ, even when it is costly and displeasing to the flesh.
