"In His sight." Here is the crucial point. By a careful observance of the law, I may be justified in the eyes of men, BUT NEVER IN THE EYES OF GOD. Sadly the religious practices of many are done FOR the eyes of men, and when done well, receive the praise of men. But my soul's problem is not with men but with God. Men cannot send me to hell, but God can! It is He I must please. It is He that must declare me not guilty" else all the approval of others is vain. Only by the righteousness of Christ, received by faith, can I ever hope to be justified "in God's sight!"
