IDOL WORSHIP
Hosea 14:8

Jack Shanks

"What have I to do any more with idols?"

Once a man has seen the Lord Jesus Christ in His glorious, sovereign splendor, it is utterly impossible for him to ever again listen to even a hint of anything that degrades the Redeemer. I have been under the greatest urge to walk out of some "church services" and probably should have. It would have saved me much agony about what I was hearing.

What a revelation to see Christ. CHRIST! Can you say that name without heart joy rising up? Have you ever heard a man say, "Jesus Christ," and the tone and inflection of his voice made you wonder if he were speaking of "another Jesus?' I realize many people "put on" when they talk. But what I am saying is, you can tell if there is genuine affection when a name is spoken.

Lord Jesus Christ! Wonderful Savior, Absolute Lord! What a privilege to even speak His Name. "What have I to do any more with idols?" Nothing! I say Nothing! The Christ of God is my whole being. Speak of Him with great reverence and affection, or speak not of Him at all.
