Wait a minute! Hold it! What are you saying? Did I hear you right? You said that the Almighty God is subservient to man's Will, and is impotent unless man permits Him to act. Yes, that's what you said! Aren't you a little afraid to mouth such blasphemy? When you consider even a little of His excellency, it seems you would be uneasy and shake in fear.
I see only a jot and tittle of the excellency of the Creator and Ruler of all things, and yet it causes me to hold my breath. "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers" (Isaiah 40:22). "My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure" (Isaiah 46: 10). "The Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him" (Habakkuk 2:20).
Yes, just stop your mouth! Job said, "O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom" (13:5). The smartest thing a man can do is to be afraid of His excellency and shut up. In 13:9 Job asked, "is it good that he should search you out? As one man Mocketh another, do ye so mock him?" Do you want Him to come and show what you have said about Him? Are you mocking God just as one man mocks another?
Are you not afraid? "Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver" (Psalm 50:22). It seems that men would deliberate and consider His excellency before popping off about God's deficiencies. But they don't! It's still, "Let go and let God." Yes, men keep piling insult upon insult about the inability of the Lord to accomplish all He determines to do. "Shall not his excellency make you afraid?" For the sake of your own eternal good, would you please stop and consider the excellencies of the eternal, sovereign, majestic LORD.
