When do you suppose this man became convinced that he was blind? The Scriptures declare that he was born blind; I have no doubt that his parents told him he was blind; I am quite sure that he gave mental ascent to the fact that he was blind. But to this man, all this is just so many words. How can you explain sight to one who has never seen? You can speak of light, color, shape and motion, but he has no basis of comparison, all he knows is darkness! But, when the Lord Jesus gave him sight, no one will ever be able to convince him that he was not blind, for now he can SEE! He KNOWS he was blind because he can see. In like manner we are born spiritually blind and dead. The Scriptures declare it is so; God's preachers proclaim it is so; we may even give mental ascent that it is so. But, when Christ Jesus gives light and life, we KNOW it is so! Every believer, like this man who was blind, knows what he was saved from and he knows Who saved him. And like this man, they worship HIM!
