"Since thou wast precious in My sight, thou has been
honorable."
Isaiah 43:4
If I am precious in His sight, it is because of what He has done, not because of what I have done! A believer is precious in God's sight because Christ has bought us at a very dear price (I Pet. 1:18). We are His workmanship (Eph. 2:10) in regeneration, justification, sanctification and preservation. And we are being conformed to the image of His dear Son (Rom. 8:29). We are His own sons and daughters (II Cor. 6:17-18; I John 3:1). Since we are by nature despicable, contemptible and worthless in His sight, we need to be made precious, dear and worthy. The Lord Jesus Christ has done all that was necessary to make His people acceptable before Almighty God. And if we be in Christ then we are "complete in Him".
