WILLING AND ABLE

Paul Mahan

Some time ago I asked someone to do something for me and he said he was willing, but was not able at that time. He wanted to oblige me but just wasn't able to do so. This is what modern religion is saying about God. Almost without exception, preachers are saying that "God wants to save you; He is willing; but He is not able unless you let Him." Besides the fact that this is not the God of the Bible (Who "doeth according to His will in heaven and earth," (Daniel 4:35), this belief in a god who is willing but not able IS NOT SAVING FAITH!

What does scripture say about the faith of God's people? God declares Abraham to be the father of the faithful (Rom. 4:12) and says concerning his faith, true faith, the faith of all God's people, "He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and be ing fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was ABLE also to perform" (Vs. 20-21). The scriptute declares that the GOD of the Bible "is ABLE to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory" (Jude 24). THIS IS THE SALVATION OF GOD, and THIS IS THE FAITH OF GOD'S ELECT!
