Yet, for the ransom of our souls, Our Lord a Man became, That He might live and die for us, Bearing our sin and blame. Yes, Jesus Christ is Wonderful, In all He is and does: He lived, and died, and rose from death, And rules the world for us. He intercedes in heav'n above For those He has redeemed, And sends His Spirit through the world To gather them to Him. Wonderful! Yes, He's Wonderful! "Behold the Lamb of God!" Christ Jesus is our Counsellor - He sent His Holy Spirit down, And through his Word the light is shown To lead His ransomed people home. Christ Jesus is our Counsellor - We go to Him for help and grace To guide our steps in all our ways And preserve us throughout our days. Christ Jesus is our Counsellor - Our Advocate before the throne; He pleads for us what He has done That we might have glory unknown!

I heard His voice and yet I made A woeful, thankless choice: Though Christ entreated me to rise, I chose to slumber on! Indiff'rent to my Savior's love, I chose to slumber on! But my Beloved would not depart Until He touched my heart - He put His hand into the door, And drew my waking heart! I rose and opened to my Love, But He had then withdrawn! I called but He no answer gave, He Whom I spurned was gone! My soul had fainted when He spoke. I sought, but found Him not.
