In the New Testament the people of God are called "CHRISTIANS" three times. They are called, "BELIEVERS" two times. But God's people are called the "ELECT" fourteen times. Rather than being fearful that the term might be misunderstood or confusing, the writers of the New Testament rejoiced to remind God's saints of their election. In fact the two words most commonly used in the Bible to identify the people of God are "ELECT" and "SAINTS".
