Pity a sinner, Lord,
Who would believe Your Word,
But must confess, with shame and grief,
My wretched unbelief!
Lord, I read there's yet room,
So to Your house I come;
Among Your children can there be
Room for a wretch like me?
The fountain open stands
To wash at Your command,
I plunge into the cleansing stream,
Wash me and make me clean.
Did You for sinners bleed?
I'm a sinner indeed!
Lord, I believe! Your grace is free!
